Google Certified Educator!!

Yippee!  After a lot of studying, I passed the assessment to become a Level 2 Google Certified Educator.  I must say, I really learned a lot about how to best use the Google Suite to engage my students and deliver the content in a new and exciting way.  If you are considering taking the assessment, I would recommend the Youtube video tutorials.  There are several playlists devoted to passing these assessments, and they are really extremely helpful.

Another Try!!

Finding time to blog seems to be an issue.  I have been trying for the past few years to get this up and going.  It seems that it is the first breath of summer break that revives my interest or ability to blog.  I have been working on ELA continua based on the common core standards.  I first became interested in this concept after viewing a Teacher's College lesson including a learning continuum on theme.  I have completed a third grade set and half of fourth.  Hopefully, I will be uploading those shortly.  I am currently working on Google Educator Certification Level 2.  This has been quite challenging.  Last year all of my students were able to work with a chrome book in our ELA classroom.  After working a full year with Google Classroom, I felt that I was ready to just go ahead and get a level 2 certification.  I logged onto the Google Education Center and began working through the units, which took quite a long time to complete.  I then went ahead and registered for the three hour assessment.  I now have just a few days left to complete this assessment, and I am super nervous about it.  The Google platform is capable of so much more than I had ever even imagined.  I am learning a lot, but it is exhausting to be so involved in this on the second day of summer vacation!!! I plan on taking the assessment very soon, so I am really hoping I get to upload a certification badge next!!
